For over 100 years California Real Estate magazine has provided news and insights keeping California REALTORS® informed about crucial issues affecting their business. C.A.R. is proud of this legacy of in-depth coverage spanning the many decades of California real estate.
Like life itself, change is a constant in our industry. C.A.R. has been at the forefront of industry change that we’ve communicated to members in a variety of ways. As the pace of new technologies has exponentially increased, we’ve developed new forms of communication – several websites, numerous newsletters, eblasts, virtual events, and more. And while California Real Estate magazine has consistently rated among the top member benefits over the decades, the cost to produce, print and mail each issue has continued to rise while revenues have declined. As such, C.A.R. leadership has made the decision to cease publication of the magazine and focus those funds toward other efforts to support our members.
The Q4/Fall 2024 issue (scheduled to arrive in homes by December 12) will be the last issue of California Real Estate magazine. We will continue to provide members information via email, our websites, virtual events and social media channels and via in-person meetings and conferences. The Center for California Real Estate (CCRE) will continue to offer in-depth analysis about major questions facing real estate, and Smart Zone will continue to serve as members’ one-stop shop for the changing business practices currently being faced.
